The
15th
of May is called Hakim Abolghasem Ferdosi’s day. Hence,
AliReza Afshar and AliReza Shojapoor the poet of epic kings’
stories have intended to hold two
commemoration ceremonies in Niavaran palace and Niavaran
Academy. The
two commemorations involve lectures, narration recounting,
and music. The interesting point is that some minor-aged
narration recounters began reading the kings’ epic story so
that it would become clear that everyone is keen on Toos
professor.

The first commemoration was held from
the 22nd
until the 25th
of Ordibehesht Month in Niavaran palace had valuable
lecturers including Dr. Hossein Vahidi who delivered a
lecture on Ferdosi’s epic of kings. Dr. Vahidi regarded
phoenix the emblem of God’s kindness and the victory of God
which devastates the enemies. When Rostam is on the verge of
being born, the phoenix perched down and Rostam is drawn out
of his pregnant mother as guided by the phoenix. Julius
Caesar is reputed to be taken out of her mother’s side due
to having a big body. The caesarian operation originates
from Julius Caesar. Hence, it is better to
Persianize
Caesarian operation as Rostamaneh.
Phoenix
is the osprey of mercifulness and God’s kindness. In the
story in which Zal is born and is cast away by his father
Sam due to having white hair, phoenix is the emblem of God’s
mercy again.
In one
section the following is written:
God
proffered a kindness to phoenix,
It did not
think of eating that child
But in the
fighting between Rostam and Esfandyar the phoenix is not the
token of God’s mercy any more, and it symbolizes the God’s
victory. Tahmtan put the bow in the arrow
As the
phoenix had ordered
He aimed at
Esfandyar Eye
That famous
man became blind
Phoenix
means the bird of the mountain ridge in Avesta language.
Jagheh coppice is one of the emblems that represent the
phoenix in the Iranian designs and ornaments. Jagheh Bush
resembles the human heart. Jagheh Bush was also seen on the
crowns of the Iranian kings. Hafez says:
The osprey
of your hair on which eagles feathers fall down
Kings of
the underworld think of it
The
relationship between the thoughts and the body or
psychosomatic aspect has been dealt with in another section
of this lecture. When Sam became sick, he sent for his lost
child to seem him. This decision cured him and according to
Ferdosi:
Your health
was restored
due to the
fact that you intended to do good deeds
Hence,
when your ideas about your child become righteous, your
bodily health improves. In another section where Rostam and
Sohrab do not know
each
other
leads to a disaster namely Sohrab 9or the son) is killed by
Rostam (or the father). Sohrab makes recurrent requests from
Rostam to send another warrior to the arena. This fact
denotes the existence of metasensory forces in human beings.
According to Dr. Vahidi: Ferdosi’s message in the computer
totalitarian era is that if Iranians do not recognize
themselves, they will have the same destiny as Sohrab.
Dr.
GhadamAli Serami was another lecturer in these ceremonies.
Dr. Serami enumerated 4 features which can make an artist
everlasting: the utilization of populace legends,
acquaintance with people’s language, recounting epic stories
out of amorous ones, and the superior taste which causes the
composition of efficacious poems. He regards Ferdosi king’s
epic as heroic deeds of life and Molavi poems as the Gnostic
epics. He also asked the buffs of the king’s epic story to
tackle it wisely not emotionally because kindness is
enlightened through wisdom.
In the 2nd
commemoration which was held in
Niavaran
Academy
from 24th
until 26th
of Ordibehesht, some poems were recited, some narrations
were recounted and the symphonic musical group performed
some programs during 3 nights based on the kings’ epic
stories. Dr Amir Hossein Mahozi quoted the words of Young
and Freud in the lecturing section that legends are the
unconscious portholes of the nations’ hearts. They are the
mirrors in which we can see ourselves. They are the dreams,
the hidden sections of our hearts and the most significant
section of our hearts. He continued: the legends are our
true reality and all of us are Rostams. The seven exploits
of Rostam are the points that accompanied him during his
trips. Then Dr. Mahozi examined the seven exploits of Rostam
and matched them with the seven illuminated transfigurations
of the AhooraMazda (or Amshaspandan) and said each one of
the seven Amshaspand have a token and a Demogorgon which is
standing in front of them. The 7 Amshaspand in the
importance hierarchy from top to bottom are as follows:
Sepanta Meynoo, Bahman, Ordibehesht, Shahrivar, Sepandarmaz,)
Maz, Khordad, Amordad. As it was said each one of these
manifestations has one token.

Sepanta
emblem is Meynoo which is a complete human being. Bahman’s
symbol is an ordinary human being, Ordibehesht token is
fire, Shahrivar symbol is metal, Sepandarmaz token is a
deity which is an earth-protecting goddess, Khordad emblem
is water, and Amordad token is a plant. Now we deal with
daemons or the antagonistic forces which are standing in
front of each one of these manifestations. The daemons of
these 7 stages are as follows: Anger Maynoo, the tenebrity
Demogorgon, the daemon of darkness and banquet, a
perilous
underground creature for instance the dragon, thirst and
eventually a horrible coppice. Rostam is the acceptor in the
first, 2nd
and the 3rd
exploits whose emblems are females and acts passively. He is
congruent in the first exploit namely Amordad which is the
easiest one. Rostam confronts a lion in a horrible coppice.
He does not do anything in this exploit and Rakhsh (Rostam’s
horse) defeats the lion. He is congruent with Khordad in the
2nd
exploit, Rostam becomes thirsty in the desert. This time
Rostam is acceptor too. A ewe shows him the way to a water
spring. Rostam (Sepandarmaz) faces the dragon which is the
agent of draught and the incarceration of water in the third
exploit. Rakhsh awakens Rostam in this exploit, and Rostam
and Rakhsh kill the dragon in a fighting. But from the 4th
exploit onwards the emblems are male and Rostam adopts an
aggressive invasive manner. He is congruent with Shahrivar
and its daemon namely banquet. Rostam mentions the name of
the kindness goddess and reveals the true colors of the
sorceress and kills her. He gains victory over the progenies
in the next feat and crosses the tenebrity. He exterminates
Arzhang daemon which has been matched with Bahman. Sepanta
Meynoo combats the white daemon in the 7th
feat. Zal Rostam’s father assists him in this exploit.
Rostam kills the white daemon and gains his father’s status.
Both fighters that is
to say, Rostam and the white daemon have white hairs in the
7th
exploit. Their white hair evinces their senescence and the
battle between the good and the evil.
